Ceanothus 'wheeler canyon' ~ California Lilac

Ceanothus Wheeler Canyon is a mounding spreading shrub that gets to 5 feet tall by 8 feet or more wide.  The great selling point of Ceanothus Wheeler Canyon is the way the young flower spikes go from a reddish purple to deep blue as they open.  It adds great interest to the shrub during the spring bloom while new and old blooms are simultaneously on the plant.  The dark green glossy leaves are beautiful as a backdrop for the remainder of the year as well.
