Ceanothus gloriosus Anchor Bay ~ Point Reyes Ceanothus

Ceanothus gloriosus Anchor Bay stays low to the ground, growing 1-2 feet tall and 6-8 feet wide.    The Point Reyes Ceanothus blooms in the early Spring, Anchor Bay is a darker blue selection than the species.  Ceanothus gloriosus Anchor Bay forms a dense enough canopy to keep out most weeds.  Ceanothus gloriosus Anchor Bay is more tolerant of clay soils and Summer water  than most Ceanothus.  But most Ceanothus aren't very tolerant, so it is best to keep the plants relatively dry once established, particularly when the weather is warm.  Ceanothus gloriosus Anchor Bay is Winter hardy into the mid teens.
