Salvia buchananii ~ Buchanan's Sage, Buchanan's Fuchsia Sage

Salvia buchananii is a neat compact plant.  The Buchanan's Sage leaves are glossy green.  The flowers are a brilliant magenta and fuzzy.  It blooms spring through fall.  I have had no damage due to frost.  The coldest conditions that my plants have experienced is in the low 20's.  It is brittle and should not be placed in high traffic areas.   Salvia buchananii came into the western gardening world rather recently.  It was collected from a garden in Mexico City.
