Phlomis lanata is a
wonderful source of yellow in the sunny, drought tolerant, garden.
Phlomis lanata will grow to 2-3 feet tall and as much as 4-5 feet
wide. The small wooly leaves set off the striking yellow sage-like
blossoms. Phlomis lanata is in bloom from Spring through Fall with
the heaviest blooming period being in the late Spring and early
Summer. Phlomis lanata is native to Crete and fits well with other
Mediterranean plants in the landscape. Winter chill becomes a
problem for Phlomis lanata in the mid to high teens.
