Halimiocistus wintonensis ~ Halimiocistus

Halimiocistus wintonensis is a great shrub for the drought tolerant garden.   Halimiocistus is a mid-sized relative of the Rockroses and Sunroses.  Halimiocistus grows to 3 feet tall and 4-5 feet wide.  Halimiocistus prefers to grow in a sunny part of the garden.  The plants are tolerant of heavy soils if the garden is kept dry in the Summer.  Halimiocistus wintonensis blooms with 2" creamy yellow flowers that have a purple spot at the base of each petal.  Halimiocistus wintonensis is Winter hardy into the low teens or high single digits.
