Abelia Kaleidoscope

Abelia Kaleidoscope has a long blooming period beginning in the late Spring and continuing through the Summer and Fall, but for me the variegated leaves have a greater impact than the white flowers. The new foliage makes the variegation even more eye-catching as it fades from red to ivory. Abelia grandiflora Kaleidoscope is a compact cultivar that grows 3-4 feet tall and is somewhat wider than tall. Abelia Kaleidoscope tolerates heavy soils but requires reasonable drainage. This can be achieved by planting on a slope or mound. Abelia Kaleidoscope grows in full sun to light shade. Abelia Kaleidoscope is a great nectar source for butterflies, including the Monarch. Plants are winter hardy to zone 6. Abelia grandiflora is a horticultural cross that is often used for a hedge or screen.
