Thunbergia grandiflora * Blue Sky Vine

Thunbergia grandiflora requires a warm place in the winter is.  Blue Sky Vine stops growing for much of the winter even at the coast.  The Blue Sky Vine leaves are large greeb and smooth, and the flowers 3" across.  Thunbergia grandiflora blooms mostly in the Spring with scattered blooms through the Summer.  Thunbergia grandiflora is spectacular in the areas that are completely frost free and has a rough looking Winter with even a little frost.  Thunbergia grandiflora will look better if trimmed hard periodically.  The old stems  of the Blue Sky Vine will gradually lose their vigor and should be removed.
