Reinwardtia indica - Yellow Flax

is a great plant for the off season blooming time. The Yellow Flax starts blooming in the late Fall and blooms through much of the Winter. Reinwardtia indica requires a fair amount of moisture in full sun but will perform quite well on a moderate irrigation diet in a lightly shaded garden. Reinwardtia indica grows 3 feet tall and wide. Reinwardtia indica spreads by sending up shoots from the roots. Older branches of the Yellow Flax fade after a season or two and plants look best if they are thinned out. The Yellow Flax is tolerant of temperatures that dip into the mid 20°s F.
