Philadelphus mexicanus
plena, the Double Flowering Evergreen Mock Orange can grow to be a large
vine or shrub. If left to its own devices and provided with enough
water the Mexican Mock Orange can grow to 10 feet tall and 20 wide.
Philadelphus mexicanus plena produces fragrant blooms from Spring into
Summer and will sometimes repeat in the Fall. The Mexican Mock
Orange will tolerate a variety of soils but does poorly in soggy
conditions. Philadelphus mexicanus grows in full sun near the coast
but does better with some shade for inland gardens. Philadelphus
mexicanus plena is drought tolerant if put to the test and will stay
evergreen through a dry summer in a coastal garden but will produce
few flowers when it is stressed. Philadelphus mexicanus plena is
