Mexican Oregano will
thrive in a cool dry garden with good drainage. Our Poliomintha
longifolia has withstood the ravages of an uneducated gardener who chopped
it all out. Thankfully it came back. The foliage has a strong
mint scent when brushed or crushed. The Mexican Oregano flowers are
striking in a dark setting. Poliomintha longifolia blooms from
Spring through Fall though the plants look better if they get a good
haircut in mid summer. As with many common names Mexican Oregano is
also applied to another plant Lippia graveolens.
