This large palm can grow to 50 feet.
The leaves are graceful and arch, where the King Palm leaves are rather rigid.
The fall off cleanly though they may stay on for awhile. The leaves can get
10 to 15 feet long. The base of the leaf is rather heavy and can damage a car when
falling from height. It is damaged by frost in the high 20's though I have seen
survivors of 18 degrees. It took nearly 2 years to come back. It is still
sometimes sold as Cocos plumosa.
