This stately palm can best be described as clean cut. The trunk and leaves are smooth green above and a little
grey below. The feather shaped fronds can get to 10 to 15 feet long. With plenty of time and good soil conditions
the King Palm can grow to 50' tall. Young trees will often be killed by frosty temperatures colder than 28 degrees.
Older tree's leaves will be damaged at that temperature or by wind. The fronds rarely droop until they are ready to
drop. The King Palm was once known as Seaforthia elegans.
