Stephanotis floribunda
does well in full sun to light shade near the coast but requires some
protection away from the coast. The Madagascar Jasmine does best
with the roots in a cool shaded location. This plant was planted on
the North side of a slatted fence so the plants could start out in shade
and then shade their own roots. Stephanotis floribunda does
surprisingly well in a low water garden once established. The
fragrant flowers are often used in bridal nosegay's and grooms boutonnière's.
The Madagascar Jasmine blooms through much of the Summer.
Stephanotis floribunda is Winter hardy in frost free or nearly frost free
gardens.
