Sisyrinchium striatum Aunt May ~ Variegated Satin Flower

Sisyrinchium striatum Aunt May is a little tamer than the species which spews seedlings everywhere.    The foliage is striking and worthy of using this as a specimen.  Sisyrinchium Aunt May has gray leaves with a cream colored margin.  Sisyrinchium striatum Aunt May grows 18" tall and forms a slowly spreading clump.  We have not had seedlings in our garden yet.  Sisyrinchium will tolerate some drought for awhile but really prefers regular water.  Plant in full sun to light shade near the coast and in a shaded area for inland gardens.  Sisyrinchium striatum Aunt May is Winter hardy to the mid teens.
