Schizostylis coccinea ~ Kaffir Lily

Schizostylis coccinea produces color late in the season when it is often hard to find.  Fall blooming plants can keep a garden interesting and colorful and these plants are to be treasured.  The Kaffir lily prefers a moist but well drained garden.  The leaves look much like a small gladiolus.  The Kaffir Lily grows to 12-14" tall.  Schizostylus coccinea will grow in full sun but seems to grow better with partial shade.  The Kaffir Lily is tender when temperatures dip into the high 20's.
