Sara Orangetip - Anthocharis sara

The Sara Orangetip Butterfly is around sporadically in our garden. The caterpillars generally feed on plants in the Mustard family, Brassicaceae. The adults may eat nectar from the mustards but will eat from a wide variety of nectar bearing flowers, notably from fiddlenecks, and borages. I have often found them on plants in the sage familyand lavenders. Good lavender choices to encourage the Sara Orangetip to hang out in your garden include: Lavandula allardii Meerlo, Lavandula grosso, Lavandula heterophylla, Lavandula provence, Lavandula pinnata buchii, Lavandula multifida
