The Sara Orangetip is
around sporadically in our garden. The caterpillars generally feed
on plants in the Mustard family, Brassicaceae. The adults may eat
nectar from the mustards but will eat from a wide variety of nectar
bearing flowers, notably from fiddlenecks, and borages. I have often
found them on plants in the sage family
including this lavender.
