Rhamnus californica 'Eve Case' * Coffee Berry

Rhamnus californica Eve Case is a native to the Oak woodland habitat.  I am always looking for plants grow under oaks in the wild.  The oak woodland is full of stuff besides the trees.   Too often our landscapes are filled with water loving plants that eventually are the demise of the native Oak trees.  Rhamnus californica Eve Case grows to 8' has clean green leaves and in the Fall and Winter through Spring these red berries.  Coffee Berry can be trimmed into a hedge or screen or left natural.  I have found Rhamnus californica to be disease free and pretty easy to manage.  The Coffee Berry can handle being mixed into the irrigated area or not.   Rhamnus californica is a larval food source for the Pale Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly and is a great addition to the butterfly garden.
