Ornate Checkered Beetle* Trichodes ornatus

This group of beetles is noted for being predators of wood boring beetles.  I have seen them frequently in Calochortus invenustus,  or butterfly lily flowers.  In that the flowers are not damaged it is likely that these are carnivores and great for the plants.
