Macfadyena unguis-cati,
or Cat's Claw Vine is a good choice for a difficult hot sunny wall.
But it is nearly a permanent choice. If you change your mind, the
vines often come back from the roots, and do so repeatedly. Macfadyena
unguis-cati can cover a whole wall and more. The roots can reach
under curbs and sometimes walkways. This enthusiastic vine should be
isolated in its own small bed. The Cat's
Claw blooms in late Spring with large yellow blossoms that fade quickly.
