Leonotus leonurus - Lion's Tail Closeup

The fuzzy orange flowers of the Lion's Tail fits well with Clivia, birds of paradise, and Abutilon. I like the jungle feel and with a name like lions tail these plants fit right in to that jungle theme. They will grow in a range of exposures even into fairly shady locations where I mix them with some of the larger tropical Salvias and Clerodendrums. Like with many of the related salvia's, Lion's Tail is great for attracting hummingbirds.
