Leonotus leonurus closeup * Lion's Tail Flowers

The fuzzy orange flowers of the Lion's Tail fits well with Clivia, birds of paradise, and Abutilon. I like the jungle feel and with a name like lions tail these plants fit right in to that jungle theme.  They will grow in a range of exposures even into fairly shady locations where I mix them with some of the larger tropical Salvias and Clerodendrums. Like with many of the related salvia's, Lion's Tail is great for attracting hummingbirds.

High resolution photos of Leonotis leonurus are part of our garden image collection.
