Kniphofia Shining Sceptre ~ Red Hot Poker

Kniphofia Shining Sceptre is one of the earlier blooming Red Hot Pokers.  Ours start blooming in May and repeat periodically through the Summer.  Kniphophia Shining Sceptre has finer textured leaves than many of the others in the trade.  Ours have withstood Winter temperatures in the low teens, and should be able to take temperatures down to 0 degrees.  Kniphofia Shining Sceptre foliage grows to 18" and flowers to nearly 3 feet.  The humming birds battle for the rights to these flowers, this is a great addition to the Hummingbird Garden

High resolution images of the Kniphofia Shining Sceptre are available.
