Fremontodendron Ken Taylor ~ Flannel Bush

Fremontodendron Ken Taylor is different from the species in a couple of ways.  Fremontodendron Ken Taylor tops out at 6-8 feet and spreads to 10 feet or more.  The flowers are orange on the outside of the petals.  Fremontodendron Ken Taylor is a hybrid of the native flannel bush and Fremontodendron California Glory.  The Flannel bush forms a dense screen and can be used as an espalier.  Fremontodendron Ken Taylor will have issues in gardens that are irrigated in the summer unless the drainage is excellent.  Fremontodendron Ken Taylor will do best without being irrigated once established.  Fremontodendron Ken Taylor will grow in full sun to or strong indirect light.  Plants are winter hardy into the low to mid teens.
