Eucalyptus macrocarpa - Mottlecah

Eucalyptus macrocarpa is a moderate to large shrub sprawling to 10 feet. The nearly white 4" leaves wrap around the branches. The 3" red flowers bloom late Spring into Summer and repeat in Fall. Eucalyptus macrocarpa flowers are produced on second year wood. Caps of flowers are slowly lifted, this can look really cool. Branches sprawl and are sometimes prone to breakage and may need pruning to keep the plants in check. This unruly specimen is spectacular. Eucalyptus macrocarpa is drought tolerant and prefers a full sun exposure. Eucalyptus macrocarpa is Winter hardy to around 20°F
