Crassula capitella Campfire ~ Campfire Crassula

Crassula capitella Campfire has brightly colored green yellow and red foliage, the color is more pronounced in early Spring and Fall when the nights are cool. Crassula capitella Campfire grows to a foot tall and up to 2 feet wide. Crassula capitella Campfire produces a stalk with many small showy white flowers during the late Summer and deep into Fall. Hardened off plants can tolerate temperatures that briefly dip into the high 20°s F but the plants will likely look pretty shabby for some time if the limits are tested. Watch for root dieback with cold weather and replant surviving bits if necissary. Crassula capitella Campfire grows in full sun near the coast and might appreciate a little mid-day protection in hot inland gardens. Crassula capitella Campfire is fairly drought tolerant and insistant on reasonable drainage.
