Dry Shade Garden |
Collinsia
heterophylla * Chinese Houses |
| The plant
is befitting of its common name. The flowers are stacked pagoda-like. They can
mass on a hillside and virtually be the whole show from May through the first of June.
They generally grow on north facing or in shaded areas of east or west exposures.
It will grow in disturbed soils or in a mixture of herbs. I have often found them
under oaks where the tree canopy is high. Seeds can often be found in wildflower
mixes. (Click on the image to go back to the aspect shot).
