Cerinthe major is a
great element for the wild garden part of your perennial flower garden. Honeywort plants are only
semi-hardy but they reproduce generously from seed. Cerinthe major
will grow to about 2 feet tall and wide. The pale blue green leaves
are a great contrast to darker plants and will readily become a focal
point. Cerinthe major blooms throughout the Spring, Summer and into
the Fall. There is a cultivar Cerinthe major purpurascens that has
purple bracts in addition to the purple flowers.
