The
Variegated Butterfly Bush is a more droopy than the other Buddleia davidii
cultivars. Otherwise the growth habit of Buddleia Harlquin is quite like the others. The white
margin of
the leaves stands out quite nicely even when the plants are not in bloom.
Buddleia Harlequin will grow to 6-8 feet and maybe a little more in a good
location.
The rich purple Buddleia Halequin flowers are very fragrant. They can be
kept blooming by deadheading or cutting the flowers. This can become quite a task on
a 10 foot bush. Unfortunately the flowers do not readily drop on their
own.
Buddleia Harlequin is a nectar source for the Red
Admiral Butterfly and a great addition to the butterfly
garden.
