Bromelia humilis

Bromelia humilis is a beautiful plant for the cactus garden or succulent garden. This prickly clumping Bromeliad grows easily in our inland valley climate. Bromelia humilis readily multiplies after it blooms and will spread into a large clump. Bromelia humilis grows to a foot tall. Pink flowers on a stalk are produced through the Spring nestled in a bright red set of interior leaves. Bromelia humilis is dense enough to exclude most weeds. This is a good thing since Bromelia humilis comes equiped with a wicked set of glove worthy hooks along each leaf. Bromelia humilis is native to Venezuela and nearby Carribean coast. Bromelia humilis is hardy into the low 20°s F leaves were singed but it came back quickly.
