The
soft green leaves of Achillea 'The Beacon' will tolerate foot
traffic. Traffic is not so good for the flowers but brings up the
scent of the fragrant
foliage. The blooms are a brilliant red with
yellow centers. Achillea The Beacon will bloom in spring and much of the summer.
They are hardy in a significant drought but like a little water now and
again and will look much better for it. I use the plants in a
perennial border or massed to give a brilliant hot spot for a garden with
warm colors.
