Achillea millefolium 'The Beacon' * Yarrow

The soft green leaves of Achillea The Beacon will tolerate foot traffic. Traffic is not so good for the flowers but brings up the scent of the fragrant foliage. The Achillea The Beacon flowers are a brilliant red with yellow centers. Achillea The Beacon will bloom in Spring and much of the Summer. Yarrows are hardy in a significant drought but like a little water now and again and will look much better for it. I use Achillea The Beacon in a perennial border or massed to give a brilliant hot spot for a garden with warm colors.
