Achillea millefolium Salmon Beauty * Yarrow
|
| The
soft green leaves of Achillea Salmon Beauty will tolerate foot
traffic. Traffic is not so good for the flowers. But any of the
Achillea millefolium varieties are a great lawn substitute. The blooms
on Salmon Beauty are a soft pastel salmon fading to buff. Achillea
Salmon Beauty will bloom in spring and much of the summer.
They are hardy in a significant drought but like a little water now and
again and will look much better for it. I use the plants in a
perennial border or massed to give a long lasting soft pastel patch for a garden with
warm colors.
Achillea Salmon Beauty is a nectar source for the Checkerspot
Butterfly species and is a great addition to the butterfly
garden.
