Achillea filipendulina Coronation Gold ~ Coronation Gold Yarrow, Fernleaf Yarrow

Achillea filipendulina Coronation Gold is a robust and colorful addition to the perennial garden. The Coronation Gold Yarrow typically grows to 3 feet tall and wide. The flat topped clusters of flowers are a bright gold color and last well on the plant or as cut or dried flowers. I enjoy the fragrance of the foliage as I trim these yarrows. Achillea filipendulina has naturalized through much of the US including California. Achillea Coronation Gold blooms from late Spring well into Fall. The Fernleaf Yarrow is not tolerant of soggy conditions and does well in a dry perennial garden. Achillea Coronation Gold is Winter hardy down to zone 3

Achillea filipendulina Coronation Gold is a nectar source for the Checkerspot Butterfly species and is a great addition to the butterfly garden.
