Salvia lanceolata - Rocky Mountain Sage, Rusty Sage

Salvia lanceolata has incredible mauve and yellow flowers. It has been a tough sturdy plant. Even along the path that the dogs take. Salvia lanceolata has stood up well to the travails of an active landscape. Individual branches die off each year. But they renew from the base. I cut off the old and Salvia lanceolata renews. Salvia lanceolata is native to the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa. Temperatures that dip into the low 20°s F will cause some foliage damage but the plants will come back for more.
