The Prince:  Introduced in 1990 

I love a saturated color.   The Prince is a deep burgundy that is almost black when it is in bud.  These deep reds look almost velvet-like especially with the morning dew. We have had regular strong blooming and no problems with The Prince even though by repute it often has difficulty with mildew, rust and black spot.   Parentage includes 'The Squire' X 'Lillian Austin'
