LD Braithwaite is
among several saturated red Austin roses. In my trials this has been a weaker growing rose than
the Squire. The blooms are looser and the stature
lower. Now that I have cast it in a poor light I should also say that
LD Braithwaite has been a
more than satisfactory rose with a consistent show of blooms and little disease problems
and I do like the dark red color a lot. Unfortunately the purple flared a bit in this
picture.
This rose is the result of a cross between 'Mary
Rose' and 'The Squire'
